Summary:
The Development Officer reports directly to the Vice President for Advancement and Admissions.
This role is responsible for managing, growing and cultivating a portfolio of major donors and donor prospects.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain collaborative and impactful relationships with Warner University colleagues, faculty, alumni, students, volunteers, donors, prospects, and community partners and assign key WU personnel to various donor and prospect relationship-building initiatives Coordinating with the Advancement team to create and implement strategies and departmental goals for the identification, solicitation and stewardship of an active portfolio of prospects and donors Nurture partnerships and relationships with our constituents, community leaders and volunteers through recognition programs and stewardship.
Cultivate long-term relationships to ensure continued funding, engagement and involvement with Warner University Oversee and ensure integrity of regular reporting on goal achievement to demonstrate progress, identify areas of concern, and revise major gift strategies as needed Develop strategies to encourage donors to give at higher levels Assist in the writing and implementation of appeal letters Write giving/grant proposals to foundations, churches, and corporations Help coordinate and lead special giving initiatives Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Supportive of Warner's mission, vision and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models Ability to network and grow relationships, leading to philanthropic support Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Ability to function well as a member of a team Organizational skills and strong attention to detail Strong customer service skills Ability to learn and utilize advancement software A self-starter; identifies opportunities and takes initiative Excellent use of English as a spoken and written language, including spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills Project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and gain the cooperation of others Ability to handle sensitive materials and conversations with confidentiality Work Schedule:
Normal office hours expected Monday through Friday.
Additional hours as needed for significant department or university events.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
