AdventHealth Lake Wales _ _ AdventHealth Lake Wales is a licensed 160-bed hospital, with 24-hour emergency care and outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community and surrounding areas.
As a part of the AdventHealth network patients will have greater access to a wide range of innovative therapies, new research, leading-edge technology and an extensive team of medical specialists.
Lake Wales is located in Central Florida in between Orlando and Tampa and is home to the Historic Bok Tower Gardens and Bird Sanctuary.
The role you'll contribute:
Under supervision of the Central Service Supervisor the Senior Tech is responsible for monitoring activities related to sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection for their assigned shift.
Participates in staff evaluations, daily shift assignments, and performance improvement activities for the department.
Participates in the orientation of new employees.
Acts as a liaison between Central Services and other hospital departments to ensure availability of instrumentation and equipment as needed for patient care.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Prioritizes work throughout the shift to ensure instrumentation and equipment are available as needed.
In the absence of department leadership, assumes responsibilities of the CS Supervisor/Manager.
Monitors sterilization practices to ensure all standards are met.
Keeps accurate records of all sterilizer loads.
Utilizes knowledge of sterilization parameters and takes corrective action if parameters are not met.
Ensures safe work practices for all employees.
Monitors staff use of PPE in decontamination area.
Promotes a safe environment.
Takes appropriate action in emergency situations, demonstrates awareness and control of hazards which may endanger patients, visitors and employees.
Monitors work environment to ensure infection control standards are met.
Ensures department is cleaned on a daily basis.
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
One year previous Central Service experience or Surgical Tech experience Central Service Tech Certification from IAHCSMM or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
